iPhone app

# EvacPath _Scan_

The free iPhone app that replaces the floor plan you cannot find.

Walk your building room by room. The app measures the walls, doors and windows as you go, you save the finished building on your phone, then you send the scan to EvacPath and a drafter turns it into your AS 3745 evacuation diagram.

To be clear

EvacPath Scan does not draw the diagram. It captures the measured layout of your building so a drafter has something accurate to draw from. The diagram itself is still drawn by EvacPath, and you still see the first draft before you pay.

Get the app (pre-release)

EvacPath Scan is available now through TestFlight, Apple's own app for pre-release software. This build has already passed Apple's review; the App Store listing is simply the next step. It needs an iPhone Pro or Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro or newer.

1. Install Apple's free TestFlight app from the App Store.
2. Open the link below on your iPhone, tap Accept, then Install.

[Join on TestFlight](https://testflight.apple.com/join/ubWCRWyF)

The app is free, takes no photos or video, and scans without an internet connection.

Section 01

## What you need

An iPhone Pro or Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro or newer. Those models carry the LiDAR scanner the app uses to measure a room, and the app cannot measure anything without it.

Models that work

- iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
- Every Pro and Pro Max model released since

If your iPhone is not a Pro model

You can still order a diagram. Email photos of your rooms and any floor plan you already have to [hello@evacpath.com](mailto:hello@evacpath.com) and EvacPath will draw from those instead. Rough inputs are fine. The app is a convenience, not a requirement.

Section 02

## How it works

01

### Scan each room

Start a scan and walk slowly around the room, holding the phone up so the camera sweeps every wall. The app measures the walls, doors and windows while you walk. When the room is done, scan the next one. Repeat until the whole building is captured. The camera is only used to see the walls: no photos or video are saved, and scanning works without an internet connection.

02

### Save the building

Once every room is scanned, save the building. The rooms are joined into one measured layout and stored on your iPhone, where it stays until you send it or delete it.

03

### Tap Send this scan to EvacPath

The app opens a new email in your own mail account with the saved scan attached: a small text file of measurements, smaller than a single photo, with no images in it. Add anything worth knowing about the site, then send it. Nothing is transmitted until you press send yourself, and this email is the only step that needs an internet connection.

After you send

From there the job runs on the normal EvacPath process. Your first draft comes back by email, it is refined until you approve it, and the invoice follows approval. Standard turnaround is 3 to 5 business days. [See the full process](https://evacpath.com/how-it-works).

Section 03

## Support

Questions or problems with EvacPath Scan, email [hello@evacpath.com](mailto:hello@evacpath.com). Replies usually go out within one business day. If a scan failed, say which iPhone you are using and which room it happened in, and that is usually enough to work out why.

Section 04

## EvacPath Scan Privacy Policy

Effective 1 September 2026

EvacPath Scan is a free iPhone app published by EvacPath. This policy covers the app only. The [website privacy policy](https://evacpath.com/privacy-policy) covers evacpath.com.

### What the app collects

Nothing. EvacPath Scan has no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. The app makes no network connections, and scanning works with no internet connection at all. It does not know who you are and it does not report anything about how you use it. The only step that uses a connection is the email you send yourself.

### What a scan contains

A scan is a small text file of measurements: the positions and sizes of the walls, doors, windows, openings and larger furniture, plus the building name you typed. It holds no photos, no video and no audio. The app uses the camera to see the walls while you walk, but nothing the camera sees is saved. A whole building is typically tens of kilobytes, smaller than a single photo, and the app shows the file and its size on the scan page under Technical details before you send it.

### Where your scans are stored

Your scans are stored only on your iPhone. Nothing leaves your phone unless you choose to send a scan.

### Sending a scan

Sending a scan opens an email in your own mail account with the scan attached. You send that email yourself, from your own address, and you can cancel it before it goes. The app has no other way to move a scan off your phone.

### What EvacPath does with a scan you send

A scan you send to EvacPath is used to draft the evacuation diagram you ordered, and it is kept as part of the records for that job. It is not shared with anyone else and it is not used for marketing.

### Deleting a scan

Deleting a scan in the app deletes its files from your iPhone.

### Privacy questions

Email [hello@evacpath.com](mailto:hello@evacpath.com).

No plan, no problem

## Need the _diagram_?

Scan it, photograph it, or send whatever plan you already have. Either way you see the first draft before you pay.
